HOCKEY
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Hockey Association was held in Masterton last evening, Mr I). Burgess presiding over a good attendance of members. Mr Richmond, Christchurch, wrote accepting the position of delegate tor the Association on the New Zealand Association and Mr J. F. Fisher wrote accepting the position of sole selector. A donation was received from the patron, LVir a. C. Major. Carterton and Valley (Kahutara) were granted affiliation to tue association, Valley’s colours to be all black. The Wellington Association wrote asking for a second representative team to be chosen to meet a Wellington junior representative team at the end of the season, the game to be played at Carterton. The invitation was accepted. A protest was received from the Maurieeville Club against Kiwi A in allowing a player who had not been injured to walk off the field. The protest was upheld and the match was awarded to Maurieeville. A letter from the New Zealand Association was received calling for nominations for players to tour Australia this season. It was decided to advise the selector of the letter and ask him to' forward the name of any such players, for which nominations will close on 28th May. It was decided to hold a five-a-sido tournament on 3rd June in conjunction with Bush districts. The following committee was appointed to run the tourney:—Messrs. C. N. Cole, M. Winslade, A. E. Pickering, 11. Jacobs, D. Costello,' A. O’Cain. Nominations, which will close on 2Sth May, must be accompanied by os per team. The next meeting will be held on 13tli June.
