JAPAN WITHDRAWS FROM IMPORTANT TOWNS. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright SHANGHAI, Monday. The Japanese withdrawal is proceeding according to the schedule laid down in the peace treaty. Nanziang, Ldulio and Kating, three most important towns, are now evacuated, and the general withdrawal is proceeding apaie. GUERILLA WARFARE. (Received Tuesday, 8.45 a-.m.) SHANGHAI, Monday. Conditions in Manchuria are going from bad to worse. The Japanese are engaged in an endless guerilla warfare, with occasional major engagements against the Manchukno forces, which are instituting a reign of terror in many parts, burning villages, destroying railway tracks and stations, and terrorising the countryside. The Japanese to-day ordered a general attack on the Chinese brigade and occupied the walled city of Faneliang, following the Chinese burning of Tungho City, compelling the Japanese garrison to take refuge in transports on the river to escape the fire. Meanwhile the League Commission is unable to make much headway in their investigation of the Manchurian situation owing to the fighting in the majority of the districts.
