At the aa-001 sales to-day, avools suited to Yorkshire demand met keen competition, with moderate support from Japan and the Continent. Greasy Merino made up to lod. The offerings totalled 10,018 bales, of which S3S6 Avere sold at auction; aim 1028 bales Avere sold privately. BAWRA WIND-UP. MELBOURNE, Wednesday.' Sir John Higgins and Mr Murphy, liquidators of BaAvra, have made a final distribution of 16d a share to contributors, absorbing £753,532. The series of such payments has uoav aggregated £236,741,955, representing the greatest avool transaction in the Avorld’s history. LONDON SALES. PRICES FIRM. LONDON, Tuesday. Offerings at the avool sales to-day were 9493 bales, including 4935 New Zealand. About 5367 bales Avere sold. There Avas brisk competition, and the offerings were cleared freely at firm rates. Bradford took the bulk of the crossbreds, and the Continent the Merinos. Sales Avere: —Greasies, Ncav Zealanl, “Havelock,” highest 9Ad, average 84d; seoureds, New Zealand “Oxford,” highest 164 d, average 16d. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the folloAving cable from Loudon, dated 16th instant:— The avool sales closed here to-day with a good tone and general competition. Compared Avith the opening rates of this series, prices generally are unchanged, if anything, slightly in sellers’ favour, Avith the exceptional’ medium and coarse crossbreds. Of the total offering, 80,000 bales Avere AvitlulraAvn, including 52,000 bales of New Zealand avool.
