Y.M.C.A. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Hockey Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening, Air A. E. Bate presiding. The report of the previous season showed that the club had had a very successful season. Three teams were entered for the Wairarapa championship fixtures. Swifts, the first team, were successful in, gaining the W anarapa championship, the Nieol Cup, Bailliin Shield, five-a-side banner and cup in the Wairarapa fixtures and also the New Zealand Y.M.C.A. Challenge Shield, defeating the Wellington team. Tlie Rovers were also to the fore m putting up some good performances. Stars, a comparatively new team, also shaped very well. Although they did not win a game they were to be congratulated on the sportsmanlike nay which they carried on. During the season, Swifts and Rovers journeyed to Wellington and played games with the I-lutt and the Wellington Y.M.C.A. The balance-sheet, which was adopted. showed that the club had a small balance in hand. A vote of thanks was passed to t it retiring officers, the secretary and the Press. Several new members were elected. . , , , The nomination of teams is to be let to the selection committee. A proposal that the Stag Club combine with this club was agreed to. In the event ot three teams being entered, the names will be Y.ALC.A., Stags, Rovers and It Avas reported that the A -MSwifts of last year had formed a new club, to whom best wishes were extendA letter Avas received from the Wairarapa Hockey Referees’ Association, inviting all players to the annual meeting, which is to be held at the 5 .AI.C.A. rooms on Wednesday next, at ,->0 P-<»-Tt was decided to do as much as possible to enter a junior team in the competition if such a competition is held. A practice of all players will be held on the Hospital grounds on Saturday next, at 2.50 p.m. . It Avas decided to bold a social even ;„<r on 17th April if possible. Messrs Jacob, Sliepperd and Ilodgknison were appointed a committee to make airaiigements. Tlie subscriptions were fixed as follow- —Over 10 vears, 10s, reducib.e to 7s 6d if paid before Ist June; under If), 7s 6d, reducible to ss.
