FATAL EXPLOSION

SEVERAL DEATHS. Press Association Electric Telegraph Copyright LONDON, Tuesday. Four were killed and six are missing following an explosion in the Llynpia Colliery, in the Rhondda Valley. Rescue parties worked throughout the night at Llwynypia and recovered ten bodies, and also rescued fourteen men suffering from gas. Two of the rescuers died, one being John Evans, the well-known tenor singA doctor, when administering artificial respiration collapsed and was carried to the surface, but later recovered.
