DECLARED IN SALVADOR COMMUNIST UPRISINGS. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright SAN SALVADOR, Monday. Martial law has been declared throughout San Salvador in order to put down Communist uprisings in which more than four were killed. The Communists provoked disorders in several towns in the interior. The Mayor, Municipal Secretary, Local Army and a tclegrahphist were killed at Colon, Communists attacked barracks at several places, and troops, firing, killed and wounded an undetermined number. CAPITAL NOT ATTACKED. WASHINGTON, Monday. A State Deparement report indicated that the Communists planned to attack San Salvador and to loot the British and American banks, but a despatch from the British Charge d’Affaires this morning stated that up to that time the capital had not been attacked.

DESTROYERS STANDING BY. PANAMA, Monday. The Canadian destroyers Skeena and Vancouver are standing by the Port of Alcajuhl, on the coast of San Salvador, to protect foreign lives and property in the Communist disturbance. WOMEN REFUGEES. (Received Tuesday, 9.5 a.m.) OTTAWA, Monday. Mr R. B. Bennett stated to-day that the Canadian destroyer Skeena has on board a number of women refugees from the insurrection in San Salvador.
