BUILDING SOCIETY

WORKERS’ MUTUAL BENEFIT. The chairman, Mr. R. Krahagen, presided at -a meeting of the Masterton Workers’ Mutual Benefit Building Society, held last night. Others present wore: Messrs. G. Hyde, H. O. 1 owles, R. Ewington, J. A. Russell, A. 11. Eddy. Mr. A. P. Smith was granted leave of absence. The treasurer of the No. 2 Society reported a credit balance of £542 2s Cd with liabilities amounting to £GB3 17s. A shareholder forwarded particulars of a property in Tauranga to be offered to the society as security for a mortgage of £-177. The matter was referred to the Valuation Committee.

At a meeting of the B group, the treasurer reported a credit balance of £111)1 IGs lOd. Liabilities amounted to £IOOO. A request from a shareholder that the society cancel two of her four shares and credit the subscriptions paid to the remaining two shares was granted.
