RAILWAY DISASTER

MANY KILLED MOSCOW TRAINS COLLIDE. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Monday, 9.45 a.m.) MOSCOW, Sunday. The news has just been released of a railAvay disaster, in Avhich 68 persons Avere killed, and 130 injured, near MosCOAV.

On the evening of January 2 two suburban trains left Moscoav within an interval of a feAV minutes. As the first passed the Kossino station a drunken man tlirevv himself beneath it. The train stopped but correct signals Avere not given and tho following train, travelling at 50 miles an hour, crashed into the stationary train Avith appalling results.

Confusion Avas increased by a reserve engine, going to Moscoav on the up track, colliding Avith tho overturned coaches lying across the lines. A fourth train,'rapidly approaching, Avas stopped just in time. Darkness added to horrors of the ■scene and increased the difficulties of the rescuers.

Eleven officials have been arrested.
