COMMUNIST MENACE
DARWIN AGITATION. (Received Monday, 11.0 a.m.) DARWIN, This Day. About 150 unemployed marched through the streets. Communist leaders have ordered all unemployed in the north to march on Darwin. This folloAvs upon the unsuccessful attempt*to secure the release of six men recently sentenced for rioting. Some Chinese shopkeepers have already barricaded their shops, ready for CA'entualities.
It is disclosed that, during the Pine Creek disturbances, the police fired six shots into a hospital, from which the trouble makers refused to budge. Later the Riot Act Avas read and the men then left.
The Minister for Home Affairs, Mr. Parkhill, stated: “I hope that force Avill not be necessary in Darwin.to enforce order but, if it is, it Avill be used..
