FIRST WELLINGTON SALE. The first sale of sheepskins, hides tallow and sundries of the 1932 season was held yesterday by the combined Wellington brokers. Sheepskins.—There was a keen demand for all grades and descriptions, best quality skins coining in for special attention. As compared with the last

sale held in December, prices generally were id to id per lb better, halfbreds selling up to 4ld. Salted skins sold about on a par with the last quotations. , „ . , Hides. —An excellent offering of abattoir and country hides was submitted,

competition from the tanners and exporters for the well-conditioned lots being a feature of the market. Heavies showed an appreciation of Id to Ad, medium and light weights ruled firm on late rates. Dark and discoloured lots were par to l-8d lower. Kip and yearlings sold well up to the level of as sale’s quotations, while calf appreciated fully HI. A nice line of calx averaging 41b. made s|d per lb.; 6/81b fetched

up to 5 3-Bd. Tallow. —A fair offering came forward, prices showing an increase of ]/- to 1/6 per c-wt. on previously quoted

prices.
