TOO MUCH WATER
.HOSING RESTRICTIONS BROKEN.
Apparently the long spell of dry weather has induced many householders to take risks in regard to the breaking of the regulation restricting the use of garden hose between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. A really fine assorted list of offenders was secured the other night by two zealous officials. Had they delayed their visit of inspection until to-night the chances are that they would not have had all the eighteen named they now have, which it is said, include those of lawyers, ministers of religion and even a highlyplaced borough official. It is understood that at some of the houses visited the owners were not content with breaking the regulation with one hose, but had one in the back garden as well as one in front of the house.
The most serious part about the offence is the difficulty which might be experienced with a reduced water pressure by the Fire Brigade in case of fire.
