SUDDEN CONFERENCE. (Received Friday, 9.55 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The unexpected arrival at Canberra of the Chairman of the Commonwealth Bank Board, Sir James Gibson, and the governor of the Bank, Mr. Riddle, resulted in the hasty cancellation of a Cabinet meeting and a conference with the leaders of the Government, Messrs. Lyons, Latham and Bruce. They met Sir James Gibson and Mr. Riddle and for some hours traversed the whole of the Commonwealth finances. It is understood that particular attention was paid to the financial situation in New South Wales.
