•POLICE AND BY-LAW CASES
Police and by-law cases were dealt with by Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the -Magistrate’s Court this morning. For having gained admission to the Tauherenikau racecourse on the second day of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s New Year meeting without first having paid for admission, William Mitch'.ul was fined £2 with 10/- costs.
For overtaking another vehicle at an intersection Frank Jackson was f:ncd £2 with 10/- costs.
Charged with driving a motor car at a speed which, under the circumstances, might have been dangerous to the public, John Carlton Holmes was fined 30/-, with costs 20/- costs.
For speeding across an intersection Tipi Rimenc and Leonard Wcschnewsky were each fined £3 and ordered to pay costs of 10/-.
B. J. O’Neill, charged with allowing horses to wander, was fined 10/- with costs 20/6. On a similar charge J. Griffiths was also fined 10/- with costs 1.2/-. The information laid against Allister Buchanan for driving a car which, under the circumstances might have been dangerous to the public, was dismissed.
