MASTERTON CLUB. LAST NIGHT’S RESULTS. Some keen contests were witnessed at the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club’s weekly meeting, held at the Park Oval last evening. Following are the results of events decided: — 75 Yards. —Ryder 1, Cross 2, Molesworth 3. 120 Yards.—Ryder 1, Molcsworth, 2 Cross 3.

One Mi-le Cycle. —McCord 1, Orr 2, G. Pve 8.

.Half-mile Cycle.—Orr 1, Tinkler 2, W. Pye, 8. Half-mile. —C. Grantham 1, King 2, Dudlev 3.

CARLTON BREAKS RECORD. SYDNEY, Wednesday. Jim Carlton, the Australian sprint champion ,ran 100 metres on an unprepared track on the Sydney sports ground to-dav in 104 seconds, beating tho Olympic record by a tenth of a second.

Two timekeepers checked the trial, which was specially arranged by an evening newspaper preparatory to the Australian athletic championships to be held shortly.
