loyal masterton lodge. A special meeting of Loyal Masterton Lodge, held in the Trades Hall, was presided over by Sister B. Preston. Visitors from Lower Valley Lodges were present, including the District Grand Masters. Past Grands from the Loyal Dunedin and Loyal Hastings Lodges were also in attendance. A hearty welcome was extended to all visitors. Local Lodge members, bv their numerical strength, showed renewed interest in Lodge affairs. One member was initiated into the order, the'TUl. of Wellington District gave a short address and congratulated the Lodge on the enthusiasm shown by the large attendance. Reports of the juvenile branch were received, and several donors to the re-_ cent juvenile Xmas function weie heartily thanked. The Hall Committee report was referred back to the committee which met later in the evening and will report again at the next meeting. Tenders for renovations and furnishing were received.- I lie secietaij ic ported that the balance-sheet and annual returns for Ih-'il, had been duly audited and forwarded to Wellington. After Lodge closed musical items were given by Bros. A. Maxted and G. Murdoch. A dance followed and a good svtpper was supplied by the Social Committee. Mr. J. Catherall presided at the piano.
