SOUTH ISLAND TOURNEY. Z FINALS RESULTS. TIMARU, Monday. The South Island croquet tournament concluded to-day.
The Avomen ’s siugles Avas Avon by Mrs Corbet (Dunedin).
MeCreath (Gore) won the handicap singles; Mrs Corbet was runner-up. Mrs Corbet and Mrs MacDonald won the handicap doubles. Details of the finals are as follow: Women’s singles championship: Mrs Corbet defeated Miss Bremner, 26/20.
Handicap doubles: Mrs Corbet and Mrs MacDonald beat Mrs Sliiels and Miss Bremner, 26/16.
Consolation handicap: Mrs Milson beat Mrs Anderson, 26/22.
Handicap singles: MeCreath (Gore) defeated Mrs Corbet (Dunedin), 26/12. NORTH ISLAND TOURNEY. The following are the results of yesterday’s play in the North Island eioquet tourney being held at Palmerston North: —
Ladies’ Championship. —Second life, third round: Mrs Anstis beat Mrs Cole, 26/1. Semi-finals: Mrs Anstis beat Mrs Matthewson, 26/3; Mrs Caldow beat Mrs Benfell, 26/8. Final: — Mrs Caldow (Wellington beat Mrs Anstis (Talcaro), 26/24. First life, second round: Mrs Keys beat Mrs Gambrill, 26/18. Semi-finals: Mrs Watkins beat Mrs' Kibblewhite, 26/1.
Handicap Doubles. —Semi-finals: Mrs Simpson and Mrs Usmar (94) beat Mrs Turner and Mrs Fenwick, 26/18. Handicap Singles.—Third round: Mrs Pitcaithiey (4) beat Mrs Tiffen (scr.), 26/10.
