COMMUNIST RIOT

NOW NORMAL AT DARWIN. DARWIN, Monday. Everything is normal at Darwin. The Communists made a procession round the streets. Constable Turner, stationed at Pine Creek, had his face badly injured and may lose the sight of one eye. The police now control the situation at Pine Creek.

(A message from Darwin on Sunday stated that violent disturbances took place at Pine Greek following the arrest of Communist rioters who fired shots at two local constables, one of whom was injured. Portion of the gaol lock-up was then blown up with dynamite in order to release a Communist.)
