ROUND ML EVEREST UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT. Press Assjjii/iluu Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Deceived Tuesday, 9.25 a.m.) CALCUTTA, Monday. The American airmen Richard Halliburton and Moye Stevens, who are touring the world, made an unsuccessful attempt to fly over and round Mt.. Everest, reaching IS,OOO feet. Ten miles from Mt. Everest they were forced to return owing to the ratified atmosphere and a strong wind from Tibet.
The airmen approached within two miles of Mt. Kanclienjunga. The fliers are this week continuing their tour which will take them by way of Burma, Malaya, New Guinea' and Australia.
