MAURICEVILLE DAIRY CO.
INCREASED SUPPLIES. AWARD ALTERATIONS. A meeting of directors of the MauriceviUe' Dairy Company was held in the company’s office at Mauriceville yesterday, Mr. H. Myers presiding over a .full attendance. It was reported that in spite of the dry weather, there was a continued increase in cream supplies as compared with the corresponding period of last season and that 90 per cent, of cream received was graded finest. The increase in the manufacture of buttei to date over the corresponding period of last season was 57 tons, 9cwt.
The financial position, as disclosed by the monthly statement, was very satisfactory. The company has continued its selling policy this season and excellent forward sales have been made. The present advances on consignment notes ' are Aid on finest and B:}d on first grade butter. It was pointed out that the advance rates obviously did not reflect forward market conditions and were in all probability calculated to meet any posiolo reclamations. It was therefore decided to make the pay-out for the month ninepenco and it was stated that this was a very conservative figure, considering the forward sales made by the company. Notice was received from the Dairy Awards Committee of certain suggested alterations to the award affecting dairy company employees and the following resolution was passed: —
"That such alterations will mean an increase of over £2OO in the manufacturing costs of the MauriceviUe Dairy Company and that during the present economic position of the country the directors of this company consider that there ought not to be any interference with the present award unless it be such as to bring about a reuuction in manufacturing costs.”
