TARANAKI REPORTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH Tuesday. “No. 1 well at Omata has been drilled to 2337 feet in mudstone with a few thin sandstone layers” reports Coal Oil (N.Z.), Ltd. “Oil and gas show at 2305 feet.” The Blenheim Oil Reclamation Company reports: —“Still fishing for dropped tools. Tools were hooked and lifted a further 65 feet, then lost grip, the tools being run down again.” MOTUROA OIL FIELDS. SHOWING OF OIL INCREASING. The Moturoa Oil Fields yesterday received the following progress report from Moturoa: —“Report for week ending October 18th: Moturoa No. 1 well drilled to 2430 feet in sandy shale, 6J-inch casing to 2354 feet. Both gas and showing of oil increasing with depth.”
