COURSING.
WAIRARAPA CLUB. ARRANGEMENTS FOR MEETING. Arrangements were made at a meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Coursing Club last night for a coursing meeting to be held on June 4. The programme will include an unlimited maiden event and an eight-dog open stake. Officials were appointed ms follow: —-Judge, Mr T. Lockwood; slipper, Mr T. V. Cavcrhill; hare slipper, Mr J. Catlierall; ground steward, Mr E. Brown. Nominations will close on Wednesday, May 30, at 8 o’clock when the draw will lie made.
Nominations were reported to be coming in freely for the Waterloo Cup fixture to lie run in the Mastcrton Phimpton, on July 12, 13 and 14. It is expected that there will be about forty or fifty dogs competing from all over New Zealand.
The Club is conducting a hare drive on Sunday next and all members and supporters are requested to attend. The drive will be held at Longbush and everyone is asked to be at the- Distributing Co. corner at 9 a.m.
