FEATHERSTON CLUB. WILL FIELD SENIOR TEAM. At an extraordinary general meeting of the Featherston Football Club held on Tuesday night, it Avas decided to field a senior team. That decision Avas arrived at after considerable discussion of the situation due to, three of their best players deciding to join another club. Mr J. Donald stated that he had to reply on behalf of Messrs R. Gundy, Q. Donald and himself. They had not definitely decided to go to another club, but unless Featherston could field a team Avith reasonable promise they intended to play for another club. Mr .1. Donald moved, and Mr McCarty seconded a motion asking the committee and the selector to select a team and table it for general discussion —The motion Avas carried and the committee retired to pick a team. Mr Allen Donald (avlio presided), said that the question boiled down to one of whether J'. Donald was going to dictate to the Featherston' club, or Avhethcr the club Avas to run its own affairs. Mr Adamson said that he felt sure that in the interests of the old club J. Donald and his colleagues would do their best to get players to strengthen Its ranks. The committee then returned to the robin and announced the team Which they' had chosen. Mr J. Donald said that the team Avas hardly Avliat could be expected. It Avas a team of surmises. Some discussion on the various players then ensued. Mr J. An "extraordinary general meeting of the Otago Rugby League to-night was called to reconsider the deliberations of the annual meeting and the election of officers at Avhieli prominent officials ■were rejected. ■At the outset the chairman (Mr J. T. Cooper) refused to allow discussion of such subjects. Ldgal opinion, he said, had conr’inced him that the meeting was out of order and could only discuss the last clause of the advertised business of the meeting regarding the revision of rules. Mr lif.
