TARANAKI OILFIELDS.
PROGRESS REPORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Wed. Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd., report: — Waiapu No. 2 Avell drilled out in cement at 1018 ft.; the shut-off 1 is hoav. being tested. Taranaki No. 3, drilled to 69ft, in soft sediment, then 2ft. gravel, and 12ft. in shale; ran stove-pipe casing to 77ft.; concreted cellar ready for drill for loin, casing. Gisborne well, erection of equipment in progress.
