STILL HOJIDINGS. OF THE'MISSING TRAMFERS. The heavy snowfall on the Taramia ranges last night will make the aa ork of the searchers for the lost trampers on the Tararua ranges still more clilHoult. Mr F. Halberg and his brother returned to Masterton yesterday afteriredn from an extended search of the Ruamahunga Valley; The two searchers .encountered very rough weather, snow falling as they traversed the high ridges towards Mount Dundas, but they did not come in until their provisions Were exhausted. They made a tliorseareh of the area between the and Dundas. In the Ruainahanga Valley they met two deer stalkers, Messrs Olsen and Dick, and •the latter agreed to remain out a little longor to continue the search in that district: Mr F. Halberg was re-equipped by the Masterton Committee, and accoinV panied by Mr L. Matthews of Mount h Bruce, went out from the Mitre camp do-day and will proceed to the northwest side of the Mitre Peak, an area that’has hot yet been searched, though • Afjg Brockett and his party are now engaged in a third attempt to penetrate it. -Messrs Halberg and Matthews will branch off towards Waloliine-iti, where Mr Vosseler and his party were searching until one of their number who met •with an accident had to be taken out.
