WEDDING.
DEAN—SILVESTER. A pretty wedding of considerable local interest Avas solemnised at Xnox Church, Masterton, on Saturday evening, when Miss Alice Septima Silvester, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Silvester, of Colombo road, Avas married to Mr James R. Dean, of Dannevirke. The- bride, Avho ay as given away by, her father, Avore a becoming frock of ivory marionette, trimmed with silver laec, and a garniture of orange blossom fell from the shoulder. She also Avore silver shoes. Her beautiful Honitou lace veil AA r as effectively arranged over a coronet of orange blossoms, and formed a train, and she carried a pretty bouquet of white roses and carnations. The bridesmaids were Miss Nonie Malmo (chief), Miss Marjorie Silvester, Miss Edna Andrews, and Miss Lena Mason, all Avearing gold crente de chine petal frocks over gold lace, with, coronets of gold leaves and berries, and shoes to match. Two little girls, Jean Mason and Ivy Harrington, Avere iioAver girls, also Avearing petal frocks of peach, crepe de. chine and cream lace, with head-bands of gold leaves. They also carried pretty bouquets to tone, and Avore gold armlets, gifts of the bridegroom. Mr 0. Jansen acted as best man. and Mr C. Dean and Mr H. Silvester as groomsmen, The ceremony Avas performed by the Eca\ J. Davie. Mr Glen played the wedding march. A reception was afterwards held in the Municipal Hall, Avhicli had been prettily decorated by friends of the bride, over a hundred guests being present. Dancing was indulged in until midnight. Mrs Silvester, mother of the bride, received her guests In a frock of flame crepe de chine, trimmed with fawn and faAvn crinoline hat. Her bouquet was of iflamc shaded flowers. The bridegroom’s mother avotc a frock of navy blue, with hat to match, and bouquet of purple pansies. Both grandmothers of the bride Avere present. Among the many beautiful presents received Avas a dinner service from Allen and Co., the bridegroom being a member of the. staff, and a from the staff. The happy couple left later by car for the south, the bride travelling in a model ensemble suit of cyclamen ■ crepe do chine, with panel of figured' georgette with hat and shoes to tone.
