MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CARTERTON SITTING. The monthly sitting of the Carterton Magistrate’s Court was hold on Monday, before Messrs W. A. Kitchen a.ml H. M. B. Trapp, .Justices of the Peace. .Judgment by default was entered :n the following civil eases: —T. P. A\atson v. P. P. Brieknell, claim £3 J2s (id, costs £1 Us (id; Wairarapa Power Board v. W. Bornholdtt, 30s, costs Ss; "W.F.C.A. v. E. Porter, £lO 9s (id, costs £1 Us. G. Foreman pleaded guilty to failing to disclose the name of the driver of his car, which had exceeded the- speed limit set by the Foatlierston County bylaws. It was explained that on the date of the alleged offence, a friend was driving Mr Foreman’s car by request, and defendant was prepared to pay tiie fine- inflicted, in preference to disclosing the name of the friend. A fine of 20s and 17s costs was imposed. Charlie Robinson, for riding a motor cycle in High street at a speed greater than Jo miles per hour, was lined 40s and 7s costs. For having iro silencer attached, a tine -of 20s and 7s costs was imposed. A first offender for drunkenness was convicted and discharged.
