HUDSON \ SIX // Mew Zealand Assembly HUDSON-ESSEX brings Sweeping Trice Economy AFTER carefully surveying the position in the motor trade The Dominion Motors Ltd. have commenced the assembly of HUDSON-ESSEX cars in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The important economies effected in production, freight and boxing charges have offset increased import tariffs. The saving has been passed on io the public in the form of sweeping reduction of prices of entirely new mode's in*the ESSEX line, and it has been possible, at the same time, to 1 protect the public against an otherwise inevitable rise in the price of tlie 1927 Hudson Models. The Dominion Motors Ltd., in accordance with their policy, are contenting themselves with a small margin of drofit, relying upon quick turnover to make the business pay. The success of this plan is well assured because the quality of the Hudson-Essex line has never been more widely recognised, and the Hudson-Essex Models will make a tremendous appeal to every discriminating motorist in the country. How Hudson-Essex Quality has been made possible at the Price. Although they are the biggest builders of six-cylinder cars in the world, the Hudson-Essex policy has always bc-en to avoid tying up money in plant and speculative equipment. At the same time,, extraordinary judgment has always been evident in providing for visible requirements. The Dominion Motors Ltd., have followed the Hudson-Essex plan closely in the New Zealand assembly. No large structure will be needed, but assembly lines have been established in existing buildings. The equipment is as efficient and as simple as possible in every operation. No huge overhead charges are, therefore, incurred. These would ordinarily have to be passed on to the public in the cost of the car. The price of Hudson-Essex cars is quoted f. 0.1). at all centres and not just one main port. It has to be remembered, too, that Hudson-Essex quality created the volume of sales, and volume made the low prices of the Hudson-Essex line possible. The specifications of Hudson-Essex are those followed by only the highestpriced cars. A thorough examination of chassis,' engine and coachwork reveals this unmistakably., Saving in Freight. Considerable economy has also been brought about, not only in boxing, but also in freight, because local assembly requires that parts, only, be sent out *to this country. These, as will be readily recognised, take up much less space than complete cars. Assembly Plants at Strategic Points. One assembly plant at, say, Wellington would not have been the most efficient , arrangement, because cars would have to be freighted all over New Zealand. Completely New Range of HUDSON-ESSEX MODELS. 10,000,000 dollars have been invested by Kucison-Essex in a new factory to build all bodies for the New All-Steel Hudson-Essex line. The result has been another radical advancement in automobile practice in which body and chassis function as almost one unit, making both “as rigid as a steel building.” Another announcement is the Four-Door Essex Six Sedan, a De Luxe Essex Six Tourer and Coupe. A complete new De Luxe colour range, fittings, and body styles are the most noticeable of the improvements to the Hudson-Essex line, but other refinements lie deeper in a design which has stood the test of time. NEW MODELS —LOWER PRICES. Essex Six Coupe - £295 (an entirely new model) Essex Six Coach - £295 (an entirely new model) Essex Six De Luxe Tourer £3lO (an entirely new model) Essex Six Four-Door Sedan £330 (an entirely new model) » Hudson 7-Passenger Tourer £450 Hudson Coach - £465 Hudson Brougham - £555 Hudson 7-Passenger Sedan £595 New Colours and Body Styles at NO EXTRA COST* All Cars F. 0.8. Main Ports. Not only would this have put up costs, but practice proves that the less a car is handled, the less chance it has of being knocked about. Auckland assembly will supply Auckland Province, Wellington plant will provide for Wellington, Wairarapa, • Wanganui, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay ;t :'j and Poverty Bay, and Christchurch " will take care of the South Island. Each plant is capable of turning out a complete car every two hours of each working day. An Entirely New Zealand Undertaking. As is well-known, the personnel and directorate of The Dominion Motors Ltd., are composed entirely of New Zealanders, and New Zealand capital and labour, only, are employed. A great part of tlie economic advantage of the new assembly plant is enjoyed by this Dominion. An investment in Hudson-Essex is not only the wisest selection of motor car value for money, but it is fostering an important secondary industry in this country. t Greater Service for Hudson-Essex Owners. The complete Hudson-Essex Sales and Service System, Which already existed throughout the Dominion, will now be supplemented by three New Zealand assembly plants at convenient points. Thus a greater degree of service for Hudson-Essex owners has been made possible. Assembly Plants Running at Capacity. You would be well advised to place your order for your new car now. Even at the old prices the assembly plants have been running at capacity. Note these new prices and new models —then act. H. J. JONES & CO MASTERTQN. ESSEX MQYQU CARS
