OPERA HOUSE. Probably the most notable stellar cast ever assembled for one picture will be seen in “Winds of Chance,’ which First National will offer at the Opera House eomencing on "Wednesday. The featured players iuelude Anna Q. Nilsson, Ben Lyon, Viola Dana and Victor McLaghlan, the English cinema star. In the supporting cast are Hobart Boswortli, Claure Gillingwater, Dorothy Sebastian, Philo McCullough, John T. Murray and others. The picture, adapted from the Rex Beach novel of the Alaskan gold rush, was produced and directed by Frank Lloyd, who made “The Sea Hawk.” Reserves at Henderson’s. COSY THEATRE. The combination of Hobart 'Henley as director and Norma in the leading male role, is proving irresistible. This (trio created the delightful Metro-Gold-wyn-Mny.cr picture, “A Slave of Fashion,’-’ and has now contributed another decided hit in “His Secretary,” which will bo screened at the Cosy Theatre finally to-night. The story is a modernised version of the Hglv Duckling theme, with twentieth century variations. It is spiced with the merriest wit and comedy, and will provide an hour,, of splendid enjoyment for any audience. Briefly, it centres around the romance of a tv-piste who was in lo\c with her employer, and how her transformation from, an (unattractive girl into one of dazzling beauty, through the aid of clothes and modern beauty •secrets, brought him It'o her feet-. Norma Shearer has never dono better .work. In the earlier scenes she buries her natural charm, but when -she emerges from her chrysalis, that former homeliness only emphasises her great beauty. Her role in this picture is a brilliant revelation of her powers as a comedienne. Lew Cody well sustains his newly acquired reputation as the screen’s foremost light comedian, and his characterisation of the young business man whose sense of humour kept him single, until one girl made .him realise the shortcomings of bachelor life, is a performance of distinct merit. Willard Louis, Karl Dane, Mable Van Rivren, Estelle Clark, Gwen Lee qnd Ernest Gillen are in itlie supporting cast. Reserves at Henderson’s.
