Tresham and Master Doon were backed in order for the Alison Cup at Takapuna on Saturday. Ruapapa immediately hit the front, and with'half the distance covered was leading Spoony, Desert Glow, Tresham, Lol'd Star and Princess 'Ronnie. Crossing the top Ruapapa and Spoony wore out clear of Boomcrday, who in turn, was well clear of Princess Ronnie and Transformer. At the turn Ruapapa led Spoony and Boomcrday, the others being well beaten. Ruapapa went away in the run home and boat Spoony by three lengths, with Boomcrday half a length away third, and then after a gap came Master Doon, Transformer, Desert Glow and Town Bank. Ruapapa was always going like a winner, but Tresham and Desert Glow, after flattering their admirers for a mile-, estopped badly. The favourite finished last. None of thQ others ever looked like winning, the ground evidently affecting them adversely.
