RACING.
TURF TOPICS. The following horses have been scratched for all engagements at Auckland .meeting:—Charlatan, Eton Town, 'Dubious and* Master Peter. Glentruin, the winner of over £IO,OOO in stakes, eost only 105 guineas in England. Captain Williams, formerly judge to the Masterton 'Racing .Club, has applied for a trainer’s license. Arrangements are well in hand for F: D. Jone’s departure for Sydney, and it is probable that he will leave during the first week in July. The two-year-olds Limerick, Young Lochinvar and Battlement are practically certain to make the trip, while Jones’ own two-year-old, Reonui, may accompany then}, if he. shows sufficient promise 'hy'the time his owner iy ready to leave. The ‘North Island apprentice, T. Green, is. likely to accompany Jones to Australia-/ Eden Hall, one of the most promising horses seen out this season, has been sold by his owner-trainer, R. Brough, to a patron of J. T. Jamieson ’s stable. Eden HaN, who is a foui*-year-old gelding by Quin Abbey. 'He cost Brough £IOO, and he has been a good winner and lias been, sold for a substatial figure, he has been very profitable. ■
