An officer of the commercial branch of the Railway Department visited Pahiatua and. advised that improvements are to be effected to the second-class seating accommodation on the Wairarapa line. He stated also that the Department’s system of through booking services was proving very successful. The official supplied figures showing substantial increases in the quantity of wool railed from the Pahiatua district.
