' (Received Tucsdav, 11.15 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Monday. The Labour Conference continued its sittings and the proceedings were more 'harmonious. The left wing of the Party, although it failed to secure the exclusion of Members of Parliament from the National Council, secured control of the Council, whose first act has been to dcposj* Senator Briggs, chairman of the the Party, which he has held for the •'conference, from the chairmanship of past eight years, though his re-election was proposed lie Mr. Crcswell.
