THE SUN’S BEDTIME.
ll.'ivi* you over got up so early That you have beaten the Sun, And watched him 'climbing o’er the hills. To tell that the day’s begun? He tihrows oil’ his golden blankets And flings them across the sky, To let 11s know that ire’s awake, And will be out by and by. And when alt eve he gets sleepy, The fairies prepare his bed Of sheets all golden and yellow And blankets all purple and rod. And when he comes in from his roamings, Tlvo fairies* ■will tuck him .in bed, And he will go to the Land of Dreams Like a great big sleepy head. Xow, children, when vou see the Sun All tucked up in blankets rod, Don’t cry when Nur-sie calls you in, For it’s time to go to bed. —LESLIE NICHOLES. (Written when aged 11 years.)
