MANGOLD GROWING.

WAIRARAPA COMPETITION. A presentation of certificates and prize money won in connection with the mangold growing competition conducted by the "Wairarapa Boys’ and Girls’ Club, under the auspices of the Farmers’ Union, took place at the iGreytown District High School yesterday. There were present: Rev. KnowlesSmitli (chairman of the school committee), Mr. J. Roche (a member of the committee), Messrs. W. G. K. M'iggins (member of-the executive of the 'Farmers Union), W. J. McCulloch (Agricultural .Department), F. C. Broekett (instructor of the Education Department), and J. Watson (secretary of the Fanners’ Union). The Wairarapa championship was won by Logan Keltic, whose plot produced *69 tons 9 cwt. per acre. His total was 112 points. The second prize went to Trevor Tucker, with 11H points. Joyce Haigh was the winner of the third prize, with 1104 points. The prizes were presented by 'Mr. M’iggins, and speeches wotc also made bv other members of the party.
