Brown, of Nadi, Fiji, are spending a two months’ holiday ’n New Zealand, and are at preivU visiting Airs Brown’s parents, Mr ..i.d Mis J. li. Percy, “Dursiey,” Bideforu. An Ottawa message announces the death of Air John R. Booth, the Canadian lumber king and multi-millionaire. He was 9S years of age. Air Booth’s son is the father-in-law of Prince Erik of Denmark.

The Prime Alinister (the Hon. J. G. Coates) left for New Plymouth yesterday, and will open the new Avorks of the Taranaki Acid aiuV Fertiliser Company to-day. In tlie afternoon Air Coates Avill attend a Reform rally at a. gar. den party, and in the evening he wiil be present at the Fertiliser Company’s dinner. The Prime Alinister Avill return to Wellington to-morrow night. Appreciative reference to the Avilling and courteous service rendered the farming community.by Air T. A. Blake, Government veterinary officer, Avho is .leaving Alasterton shortly on transfer, was made by several speakers at the Alasterton A. and P.
