WOOL MARKET

; \ { LONDON SALE. LONDON, Monday. ' At'the. wool sales there was a small offering of merinos, and greasy crossbreds, but a good supply of slipes and scoureds. Prices generally were \m- ’ changed. New Zealand ‘ ‘ Waiouru,’ ’ 14*d, 13|d per lb. Bradford prices are still sagging, but with a rather better inquiry.—Aus. -and N.Z. Cable Assn. NAPIER SALE. By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, Tuesday. This morning Bradford came into the market much more freely than last night, and at times entered into spirited competition with the Continent. American buyers seemed indifferent, taking only extra choice lots. Crutehings were still at par with the last Napier sale, and ruled up to au average of 9)d to 30;ld. The decline prine.pially involved, the finer wools, and 46’s to fill’s dropped by 2d to ltd compared with last sale. Prices for stronger wools, lie’s to 44’s, showed the least drop, declining by from 1M . to Id. Pieces and bellies were again back about 2d on the average, but lambs’ wool and good quality Romney went as far as 16d. It is felt in some quarters that prices ■must fall still further and that, where -to-day 12d was being offered for good average wols, later sales in the season would find the same class of wool only bring single figures. The range of prices is:— Down, average, 141 d to lli’.d: lino halfbred super 16Ad to 17Jd, medium Ifid to 17d, coarser Ifild to 17d, average 12Jd to Tod, inferior lid to 12i]d'; Corriedale, super up to 171 d, line crossbred super 14d to 161 d, average 12d to 14d, inferior 91 d to Hid, medium crossbred super 14d to lfijd, averages Hid to 1-2:1 d, inferior 9d to 30d, coarse crossbred super 12jd to 14d, average 91d to 1 ljd. inferior 7d to Old, low super up to 12'Jd. average 10-1 dto 12d, inferior 7(1 to lOd, hoggets fine 15d to lSd, medium 131 d to 36d, coarse 12-ld to 1340, lambs fine 32d to 16d, seedy and inferior Sd to 12d, bellies and pieces halfbred low to medium up to 121 d, crossbred, good to super lid to Ci'id. low to medium 7d to 11(1, crntchings medium to good 9d to lOld, inrerior and seedy 4d to 7ld, locks crossbred 41(1 to 6d.
