DROWNED IN RIVER.

A SWAGGER’S END. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) PAHIATUA, Mon day. The body of an elderly man, a swagger, was found to-day on the bed of the Manawatu river at Ngawapurua, by two anglers. Evidently it had been in the water for some time. ; • It was identified as a man who said he crossed the river on November 9th, when he went to Onto station. It is assumed that lie met his death when iecrossing the river later in the day. His name is unknown. BODY IDENTIFIED. PAHIATUA, This Day. The body has been identified as that of Joseph Golding, a native of Ireland. It is understood that he had no relatives in the Dominion. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.
