WANTED IN SYDNEY

PASSENGER ARRESTED., ON THE MAKURA. On the arrival at Wellington yesterday morning of the R.AI.S. from Sydney, Senior-Detective Cameron, and Detectives Tricklebank and Sinclair boarded the vessel and arrested a middle-aged man named AVilliam Heniv Curtis, a musician by occupation. He appeared in the Alagistrate’s Court before Air E. Page, S.AL, charged with wounding her witk intent to murder her. “In making application for a week’s remand,” said Chief-Detective Kemp, “I may say that an escort to take accused back to Sydney cannot reach Wellington in less: than a fortnight’s time. Another week’s remand will also be necessary.” A remand was granted accordingly by the Alagistrate.
