WANTED IN SYDNEY
PASSENGER ARRESTED., ON THE MAKURA. On the arrival at Wellington yesterday morning of the R.AI.S. from Sydney, Senior-Detective Cameron, and Detectives Tricklebank and Sinclair boarded the vessel and arrested a middle-aged man named AVilliam Heniv Curtis, a musician by occupation. Curtis .is wanted in connection with the attack on Aliss Timson, who . was found on November 30th in heY house at Sydney, bleeding profusely from deep cuts on her head. He appeared in the Alagistrate’s Court before Air E. Page, S.AL, charged with wounding her witk intent to murder her. “In making application for a week’s remand,” said Chief-Detective Kemp, “I may say that an escort to take accused back to Sydney cannot reach Wellington in less: than a fortnight’s time. Another week’s remand will also be necessary.” A remand was granted accordingly by the Alagistrate.
