BUILDING POLICY. CONTROVERSY. STARTED. - :'ress Association—Electric Teleeraph—Copyrig. LONDON, Tuesday. The Daily Chronicle's lobby correspondent says the Liberals have chosen Thursday for discussion of the vote for the Navy, hoping to get a Government statement regarding the building policy. The Cabinet to-morrow will receive the report of Lord Birkenhead’s committee, whose decision is in favour of a programme of four cruisers. This the Admiralty strongly criticises. Indeed, the Sea Lords are in revolt again. Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting is likely to provide a rough passage. Mr W. C. Bridgeinan, First Lord of the Admiralty, reinforced by a /trong Conservative group, will -put up a stubborn fight for eight cruisers, or at least six, as the Australian Government is finding two. Unless the Cabinet sanctions the full programme wo may see a. few- resignations, the correspondent adds. —A us. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
