AUCKLAND BURGLARY.
A COOL CUSTOMER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) '■ AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The Auckland police received advice to-day that Maurice McAuliffe had been arrested at 'Arapuni on. a charge of breaking and entering the shop of Mark Salas, outfitter, Victoria street, Auckland. Accused was charged at the Putaruru court and: ren)auded-,t6 Auckland.' .
The circumstances of. ,th.e burglary, which occurred between Saturday, May 30th, and Monday, June Ist, were peculiar. Entrance was effected through the roof, a sheet of iron being removed, while holes were cut in the ceiling of the top floor shop and then in the ceiling of Salas’s shop below. Investigations showed that a man had boiled a kettle at the back of the shop, made a cup of cocoa, and had a shave before departing ' through the front door with a suitcase containing goods valued at £75.
