The Australian athletes appeared here on Wednesday afternoon. r i he weather was unfavourable and the track heavy. Parker won the hundred yards in 10 sec. Whyfe won the quarter-mile in ,12! sec., after a great finish. Rose comfortably won the mile in 4.110 2-o, Hyde, the Australian, being second.
AUSTRALIAN ATHLETES. SPORTS AT MASTERTON. SATURDAY, MARCH 21st. It has been definitely arranged that fhe Australian athletes will come to Masterton for a full sports programme on Saturday, .March 21st. In addition to the Australian athletes, it. is anticipated tlnnt the best of the Wellington champions will attend. It is well known that Campbell, the New Zealand half-mile champion, who got within a fraction of a second of the record recently, feels that on the fast Masterton oval he could put up the coveted time. A special meeting of the sub-centre will be held this evening to make the filial arrangements.
