DENNISTOUN CASE.
FRESH ISSUE RAISED.
DIVORCE VALIDITY.
Press Association—Electric Telegraph—Copyrigh LONDON, Wednesday.
Jii the Dennistoun ease, Sir George Lewis, on behalf of Mrs Dennistoun, declared that if her divorce from her husband, obtained in Paris in 11)21, was good, it was also valid in England. Sir Edward Marshall-liall retorted that the validity of such a divorce would be one of the chief issues of the case, lie added that Dennistoun did not dispute the issues of domicile or misconduct, but he would swear that the divorce was arranged between Mrs Dennistoun and himself.
Lengthy arguments followed, on questions of collusion, which Sir George Lewis denied, and the admission of certain letters.
Sir George Lewis claimed that the case could be settled at any moment on a fair basis.
The hearing was adjourned.—Aus, and-N.Z. Cable Assn.
(Mrs Dennistoun, the plaintiff in the case, claims the return of money lent to her husband prior to their divorce. Lieut.-Colonel Dennistoun is now the husband of the Countess of Carnarvon.)
