WAINGAWA FREEZING WORKS
The announcement made by us yesterday that the Waingawa meat works will re-open on Monday next will be welcome news to the farmers, of the Wairarapa. The town of Masterton in particular and the Wairarapa in general depends so much upon the progress and prosperity of the farming eommun-
ity that when the farmers experience slump conditions such is reflected over the whole community. The new company which has taken over the works obtained the best possible brains to set the business on a proper footing, and as a result farmers generally will have confidence in the concern. The loyalty and co-operation of the farmers are absolutely necessary, however, to make the works the success they should be. The re-opening of the works will have a very important bearing on the trade of Masterton, as well as tending to increase the population owing to the additional work that is now available. The present management should be able to make the works one of the most valuable assets the district has ever had.
