FRIESIANS AND RED POLLS.
The annual stud stock sale of surplus Friesian /and Red Poll bulls waa held at the Weraroa Central Development Farm, Levin, yesterday. 1 There was a good demand for Friesians, but Red Polls have not yet apparently been sufficiently exploited to become as fashionable as they now are in the Old Country. , In the well-known herd . sire Dominion Woodcrest Piebe. Mercedes, which is to be superseded by an imported animal now on its way from.' America, was sold -at 196gns to Mr Cameron, of Melbourne, who some time > ..- ago purchased a full-sister, which sent to Australia iu exchange fox some Red Polls. Other good sales wer. e those of the yearlings Dominion Paul Crest, which changed hands N at SOgns., and Dominion King Woodcrest, which went to Canterbury at 85gns. Other weHgrown yearlings made from 40gns to 58gns, and others at from 20gns to35gns. Air G. Kenrick (Pahiatua) purchased Dominion Judge Beet’s Paul fog . 51gns. .In Red Polls, the imported herd siTe Force Majeur was acquired by Mr Quentin Donald, of Featherston, for. 80 gns, while th e two-year-old Dominion Aeronaut, by Aviator —Lucky Hit, went to 'a Southland buyer at 50gns. The yearlings made from 18gns to 33 gns. . j
