VIDAL’S EXPULSION. PARIS, Saturday. The French Rugby Federation liaedecided to refer the Vidal matter to a jury and M. Vidal’s expulsion has been deferred pending the jury’s decision Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn. (The French Rugby Federation expelled M. Gaston Vidal, Under-Secre-tary of State for Technical Education, better known as French Minister for Sport. M. Vidal recently denounced the growth of professionalism among French footballers, and protested against the excessive value the .federation places on the revenue from tne games. He said the sport was degenerating into a, spectacle. Some great matches were circus parades. M. Vidiil’s frankness annoyed the French clubs, which called on M. Tidal to justify his defamatory language. He replied that he had spoken as Secretary- of State. After a secret ballot, lie was expelled by 195 votes to 170. It is noteworthy that M. Reicliel, vice-presi-dent of the Football Association, just previously resigned as a protest against the association allowing clubs to play against English professionals.)
