ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE PARAMOUNT THEATRE. There is lots of romantic incident in “An Adventure in Hearts.” The story is crowded with the elements that make the heart beat faster; that make the spectator want to shout a warning to the hero at the crucial moment. There is aeuon, action, action. There is sus-

pense, fear and relief; there is love, adventure and thrills. It is crowded with scenes and situations, that rivet the attention and hold the interest to the highest pitch. Plot and counter-plot, intrigue, treachery and courage of the first order, are entwined and interlaced in vivid patterns, through all of which runs the golden thread of love. The suppdrting items include the second chapter of “Smashing Barriers,” and a two-reel Sennctt comedy-. COSY THEATRE. Corinne Griffith in elaborate gowns and costumes makes a charming little dancer in her latest Virginian feature, “The Garter Girl.” Slie/infuses a tremendous amount of life and appeal into the title role, and is the ideal heroine that O. Henry would have chosen for 'the picturising of his story. It is a story of contrasts between stage life and that of the small country town, and is remarkably well presented in lavish manner. Some of the scenes show beau-

tiful photography, particularly those of the region behind the footlights, and winter sports in the snow country. Like most of O. Henry’s best stories, the jplot takes unusual and unexpected twists, and reveals an innate knowledge of human nature. Another big feature is showing in the five-act, comedy drama, “Alarm Clock Andy,” in which Charles Ray is starred.
