WHEAT SHORTAGE.

A CANTERBURY FLEDGE. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. In view of the wheat shortage it was unanimously resolved by' the Farmers’ Union Conference: “That this conference, in view of the probable world shortage of wheat, pledges itself to do all in its power to induce the farmers to increase the area sown in that cereal, and calls on the Government to use every' means at its command to take delivery of and store the grain when produced.”
