P. AND T GRIEVANCES.
A MINISTERIAL REPLY. CONSIDERED UNSATISFACTORY. The local secretary of the Masterton ’ branch of the P. and TV Association has received the following telegram from Air H. E. Combs, general secretary: — The Prime Alinister advised the conference this morning that he cannot answer the requests submitted by the (llegation in Alay last until the Rail- . vav Tribunaljs recommendations are received by the Government, and that then Cabinet will consider the question - of a bonus for post and telegraph servants. ' ■ The conference has urgentlp replied - that the grievances of post ahd tele- , graph servants should be settled their own merits, and not on the basis • of. the grievances of the railway, servants; further,, that this service wants salary improvement, and the bonus is.therefore regarded as an impossible suggestion. • • ' The Conference has adjourned until, an answer is received, and in the mean.- : time is preparing to take a postal ballot- of membership re further action. A meeting of the local branch is tobe bold to consider the position.
