Mr D. Cased berg has returned to Masterton after an extended holiday trip. The Rev. Val Trigge, the Australian evangelist, will conduct a service in the Solway Methodist Church to-mor-row afternoon.
Mr A. C. Holms, of Featherston, who is feeling the effects of his strenuous efforts in public life, is about to take a holiday trip. : At last night's meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust, Mr C-.. E. Jfa Dauieil was re-elected to the positioner; of chairman for the ensuing year. Nf The engagement is of Miss Ida Stewart (late N.Z.AjN.S.), daughter of Airs Alex, Lssex‘street, to Air F. H. H. Brice, of Alarton.
The services rendered by Air Richard Brown as chairman of the Masterton District High School Committee for twenty years are to be publicly recognised.
At the meeting of the WairarapaAutomobile Association and Mutual Insurance Company, the resignation of Mr A. C. Holms as treasurer was accepted with regret. Air M. H. Kendall was appointed it l his stead. At the meeting of the trust Lands Trust last night it was decided togrant Mr A. W. Hogg leave of absence until he recovered from his illness. The, chairman stated that it was very pleasing to know that Mr Hogg had taken a turn for the better.
According to a Press Associationmessage from Auckland, Ser-geant-Major Sydney E. Wright, ILN--Z.A., was knocked down by a motor ; bus at Devouport and killed. Deceasr.■: ** ed. who leaves a wife and three childrou, had been in the forces for four years. \
