T. Foyritt, of Seatounj. and formerly of, the Wairarapa, to Mr Reginald Revell,. of Koromatua 1 , Frankton Junction, son of the late Mr F. Revell, at one time resident in Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. .T. H. Sykes ■ formerly of Tinui), assisted by the Ven A,rchdeacon Johnson (Formerly of Masterton). The bridesmaids were Miss' Babel. Hooke, and two little girls, Mary and Betty Sykes, the daughters, -of Mr and Mrs Sykes. The best main was Mr-Pearson. After the ceremony .a reception held in the Masonic Hall at Seatoun, which had /been very prettily decorated for the occasion. Mrs Sykes, the wife of the Rev. J. H. Sykes, from whose house <the wedding party set out, assisted Mr Porritt to receive the guests. Among them were several old family friends, including t Rev. LT.. Paterson. The late Mrs Staples >vaa bom in the ■County of Fermanagh, Ireland, in: 185.1, and came (o New Zealand in the ship Hereford about 1871, lauding at Lyttelton and coming on to 1 Akaroa not long afterwards. She was married at ■Christchurch in 1877 to Mr John Staples. and had lived at Akaroa over since. She had a wide circle of per- ’*'■ sonal friends all over the Peninsula. Her husband and a family of six children are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother.
